I chose to study Maths A Level at Godalming College because it was one of my favourite subjects at GCSE and it worked well alongside my other subjects. What I’ve enjoyed most about the course is the problem-solving aspect and seeing the maths we learn in applied contexts. I’ve enjoyed developing my mathematical reasoning when working through challenging questions which has helped me in my other STEM subjects. The teachers at Godalming are very supportive and are always willing to offer help.
My favourite part of college life has been taking part in different activities and meeting new people alongside my studies. The college has supported me through approachable teachers and a welcoming environment.
I decided to sign up to the Gold DofE as I had really enjoyed both the Bronze and the Silver expeditions. The experience helped me grow by developing my confidence and independence, as well as improving my problem-solving and teamwork skills. It also taught me the importance of resilience and supporting others, which are key aspects of leadership, especially when facing unexpected challenges.
